LA Natives | Notebook (brown)

from 5.00

This collection of notebooks displays lino prints from my series Portraits of Place: Urban Biodiversity in Los Angeles. It is a celebration of the species that call LA home (California natives or not). When you carry one of these notebooks with you, you’ll be reminded to look around and find the little bursts and hidden corners of nature in your urban environment - they’re everywhere once you start looking!

Possible uses for these notebooks:

  1. recording birds, squirrels, and other urban wildlife you see;

  2. pressing plant leaves between the pages;

  3. drawing people sneakily in the metro;

  4. copying out inspiring quotes from books and everyday life;

  5. writing infinite to-do lists that will only be partially checked off; and

  6. everything else you could possibly want to put down in a handy pocket-sized notebook!

The notebooks are about the size of my hand (14x10cm or 5,5”x4”) and are made out of recycled paper, with a lovely brown craft-paper cover and cream-colored pages (30 sheets/60 pages). They are sewn at the spine. The lino prints have been printed directly onto the card cover of the notebooks. You can purchase them individually or as a set of all 5.
